Big day today – registered my company in Alberta. Will get the papers in 5-7 business days, but considering that today is the birthday of my company: Coaching by Ave Peetri Inc. The process itself was quite easy. Did a google search to find out how to register, found out that there are several companies who do that – all of them are the representatives of Canadian Government, but non-profit organisations. I guess this is one way to have a smaller public sector and a better work ethic – subcontract government’s duties to private companies. I sent questions to a few of those companies asking what do I need and how much it costs. Only one of them was very good at talking me through of all different options that I have and answering my questions: BDC Canada. They were also the only one that I found that offered full service – instead of just registering and doing name search, I’ll also get my tax no and bylaws and all kinds of things I would otherwise have had no idea of needing.

The next steps would be getting the website done and opening a bank account. The most important obviously going out there and getting some clients 🙂 But I have a plan for that!
