5 goals a day

I have been making lists of things that need to get done every day. The lists are quite long and every day they seem to get longer. That has been quite depressing and instead of following my list, I have been doing all kinds of other things including surfing the net, answering Facebook posts etc – things that are definitely not productive. Well, something good has become from me surfing the net, since I happened to listen to a webinar where one coach was interviewing another on the subject of  courage of starting your own business. One thing really caught my attention that instead of making the endless lists and feeling discouraged at the end of every day, you should instead set yourself 5 goals a day. Celebrate when you have done them and if you feel like you could do more, do more. This idea was quite liberating to me and yesterday I compiled all of my to do’s on one page (yes, it was a full A4 page) and this morning I wrote today’s date next to 5 of them and then 6th – in case I have time left over. I feel a lot more energised starting my day at least.

I’ll try to also follow the guidance of differentiating between power and force. When you feel empowered to do things (power) then you use your creativity and get things done effortlessly. Whereas using force makes you push yourself and others and manipulate things into happening – meaning also taking shortcuts that might come back and bite you later.

Have an empowered day and let’s get our 5 goals done!
